MGCC Minutes – November 9, 2011

President Keith Kerr called the meeting to order @ 7:05 pm.
We had 2 member  “visitors” – Augie Burgoon and Juergen Keetz.
New member Ian Peterson was introduced.  He has a ’71 MGB
and drove it tonight.  Others drove their MGs tonight as well.

Treasurer’s report – John Fraioli gave his report.  Contact John if you wish to see a cash flow report of the club’s finances.

Collector Car Council report – Dick Fritz reported that the Forney Museum was closed last Wed evening so the meeting was cancelled.  Bob Beers, a member of the Model A Club, is seeking to promote a vintage car rallye in CO.  These would be pre-War cars.  Admission fee - $100.  TSD rallye format – strictly by the speedometer – 1 class of cars is limited to 30 mph – the other class of cars is limited to 45 mph.

 

Membership report – Al Wulf reported that there are 216 member families.
He will calculate the annual dues for the Collector Car Council soon.  Name badges are available - $10 for the magnet badge and $8.50 for the pin badge.

 

Events – Neil White reported the following events:
Sat Nov 12 – 9:30 am Dust ‘n Shine @ the Forney Transportation Museum
   20 people have signed up.  Lunch will be at the Red Rooster Café.
Sat Dec 3 – 6 pm – MGCC Christmas party @ the Homestead House.
   An email is to be forthcoming re. this.  A menu will be available.  The    
   check should be made payable to the MGCC and sent to John Fraioli.
Sat Mar 17 – John Fraioli will organize getting members to participate in the   
   St Patrick’s Day parade.

Old Business - none  

Mileage competition – Jack Knopinski reported that John Fraioli turned in
miles last month.  Al Wulf had over 300 miles last month.

By-laws – Stan Edwards reported that changes have been made.  Patty Wulf expressed the opinion that the club should routinely audit the books.  Keith Kerr reported that there will be an annual audit of the books starting this year.

2012 Moab trip – Juergen Keetz will plan a trip to Grand Junction and the CO Nat’l Monument next Sept.  This will include a wine tour, a peach stop and a tour of the Gateway Museum.  It will be a shorter trip – i.e. a long weekend.  Juergen is working on getting the best motel rates.

Gambo, Newfoundland – Jack Kahler is still looking for donations for the kids’ Christmas party in Gambo, Newfoundland.  So far members have donated $700.

Regalia – Cathy Gunderson reported that she can still get items for Christmas.

Swap Shop – Joe Boyte has a Mercedes Benz station wagon for sale – no price.
Dick Fritz announced that Hugh and Sandy Sweeney have a ’53 TD and a ’49 TC (in parts) for sale – no price on either one.
Jack Kahler has a ’69 MGC GT on the market – contact him – no price.
Juergen Keetz needs a top frame for a ’62 Mark II MGA.  He also needs steel wheels.

Cathy Gunderson thanked Keith Kerr for all his efforts in being the President this year.

There will be no meeting in December.  The above awards are due back at the Jan meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 pm.
